today MODESTO GIANINI Modesto L. Gianini, 97, of 450 Zane Grey Road, Norwich, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 1991, at New Concord Nursing Center following a short illness. Mr.

Gianini had lived in Zanes-ville area since 1989, was the retired owner of Belvedere Hotel in Apollo, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion and an Army veteran of World War I. Born Aug. 15, 1894. in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Joseph and Philemina Mark Gianini. Surviving are several friends, including Robert and Jane Reusch of 450 Zane Grey Road.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Fowler Gianini, Nov. 9, 1973. Calling hours are 9 a.m. until servicetime, which will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryan Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry R.

Ku-dart officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lower Burrell, Pa. HOSPITALS GLEN ROUSH CANTON Glen H. Roush, 79, of Canton, died at 11:52 a.m. Friday, Dec.

20, 1991, at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a long illness. Mr. Roush retired from Big Four Lumber Co. of Cleveland in 1973 and from Stark Securities in 1385. Born May 23, 1912, at Middle-branch, he was a son of Howard and Alma Vinez Roush.

Surviving are one son, Richard Roush of Zanesville; two daughters, Mrs. Hansel (Wanda) Pritt and Mrs. John (Mary Jane) Boiano. both of North Canton: one stepdaughter, Margaret Todd of Cambridge; three brothers, Henry Roush of Massil-Ion, Robert Roush of Canton and Jack Roush of North Canton; two sisters-, Mrs. Nick (Vera) Popa of Louisville and Donna Tahner of Akron; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Snyder Roush. in 1988. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at Earl B. Jack Funeral Home, 1307 Ohio Canton: and one hour prior to services which will be at 11 a.m.

Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Schluder officiating. Burial will be in Warstler Cemetery at Canton. MINNIE SWINEHARTE THORNVILLE Minnie K. Swineharte, 93, of Thornville, died at 10:30 p.m.

Friday. Dec. 20, 1991, at Somerset Quality Health Care following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Swineharte was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville, the Sewing Circle of the church, the Mirian Circle of the church and the Fairfield Beach Club.

Born Dec. 20, 1898. in Somerset, she was a daughter of George W. and Ellen S. Dupler Borgman.

Surviving are one daughter, Mildred J. Koehl of Akron; one son, Paul R. Swineharte of Myrtle Beach. S.C.: four grandchildren: and several greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Swineharte.

Hummell, 50, of 10008 County Road 410, Coshocton, was dead on arrival Friday afternoon, Dec. 20, 1991, at Coshocton Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Mr, Hummell was a 1959 graduate of Plainficld High School, was a millwright by trade, was employed for 18 years at the former St. Regis Paper Co. In Coshocton, and was owner operator of Wills Creek Marine for many years.

He was a member of Otsego United Methodist Church, Coshocton AFL-CIO, Coshocton Building Trade, Muskingum Valley AFL-CIO, Muskingum Valley Building Trade, Carpenter's Union, Warden of the Carpenter's Union Local 2G7, 25-year member of Hubbard Masonic Lodge No. 220, Adamsville East-, ern Star No. 473 (Frank Ransbot-torn Lodge). Born April 29, 1941, in New Philadelphia, he was a son of William E. and Stella Marie Carsey Hummell.

Surviving are his wife, Linda M. Ankrum Hummell, whom he married Oct 31, 1959; two sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Kathy Hummell of Navarre and James C. and Connie Hummell of New Concord; one brother, Walter Steven Hummell of Coshocton; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Poorman and Mrs.

files for Chapter 11 BELPRE, Ohio (AP) Middleton Doll Co. has filed a petition for protection under Chapter of the federal bankruptcy code, company officials said. Such action allows the company to continue operating under court protection from creditors. The company's general manager, James Armour, said that although sales and orders have increased, the company incurred substantial losses last year when it expanded but didn't quickly establish controls. The company will propose a reorganization plan to restructure its debt, he said.
