Pd. Notice, The prophet Ezekiel wrote, "Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms" (Ezekiel They are a substitute for true faith in God. Instead, we are reminded constantly that our lives and our faith are to be in the living God, who has revealed Himself to us in Jesus Christ. "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands" (Acts Whenever we see a cross of any kind it should remind us of the fact that Christ died for our sins. The cross on which Jesus died was not a pretty piece of jewelry far from it.

It was a brutal, cruel instrument of torture and execution and Jesus willingly went there for you and for me. Put your faith in Christ alone, and in what He did for you on the cross. Lower Back Pain, Hip Pain. Pair Down legs By DR. BILLY GRAHAM DEAR DR. GRAHAM: Why do you think a gold or silver cross is such a popular piece of Jewelry? When I asked an acquaintance why she wore a cross she shrugged and said she thought maybe it would bring her good luck or something. Mrs.

J.S.J. DEAR MRS. J.S.J.: I'm sure people have many different reasons for wearing a cross as a piece of jewelry. Any cross, however, should always remind us of Christ and His death. No piece of jewelry whether it is in the form of a cross or anything else should be seen as a magic charm that will somehow bring the wearer good luck.

No man-made object has any power in itself to do anything for us, and the Bible warns us against any kind of superstition like this. Charms and amulets of all kinds were very common in the pagan ancient world but in both the Old and New Testaments believers were told not to place any faith in them.
